SPECIAL HOLIDAY PRACTICE :: YOGA MALA

A Yoga Mala is traditionally comprised of 108 Sun Salutations practiced in 9 sets of 12 Sun Salute A’s.  This offering is a half mala, so we will complete 54 Sun Salute A's in 6 sets of 9.  Aya will offer several options for modifying this practice to make it accessible to all ability levels. Sun Salutation A is the classical series of twelve physical poses linked together with breath consisting of: Tadasana (mountain pose), Uttanasana (forward fold), Urdhva Mukha Uttanasana (1/2 fold),  Dandasana (plank), Chaturanga Dandasana (push-up), Bhujangasana (cobra) or Urdva Mukha Svanasana (updog), Adho Mukha Svanasana (downdog), Urdhva Mukha Uttanasana (1/2 fold),  Uttanasana (forward fold), Tadasana (mountain), Samasthiti (end hands in prayer).
