Friday May 3 :: 630-830pm TELL IT! A Community Storytelling Event

Because we are HEALERS. Because we are WARRIORS. Because we are SURVIVORS and we have stories to tell… Because our stories are healing… Haji Healing Salon invites you to TELL IT!

This inspired new community storytelling event is safe space for sharing our stories of radical healing, transformation and liberation. The legacy of storytelling for people of African descent is embedded in our DNA. It is rich, authentic and healing for both the storyteller and the audience. Our stories have the power to validate us, uplift us, inspire radical hope, unite us in the experience of listening, build community and give us space to be seen and heard in the most affirming ways.

Whether you are a seasoned storyteller or someone brand-new to the experience, consider sharing an uplifting, personal 5-minute story that meets the following criteria:

  • It’s YOUR story to tell. The story happened to you, involved you or was witnessed by you.

  • It’s told “off the cuff” without the use of scripts or notes (practice is recommended)

  • The story does not exceed 5-minutes in length. We will have a timekeeper to make sure everyone stays in divine time.

  • While we can handle adult themes, we request that the story NOT contain excessive, graphic descriptions of sex acts or violence, nor racist, sexist or homo/trans phobic language.

TELL IT! goes up FIRST Fridays from 630-830pm. This month features special guest storyteller Shannon Harris + special musical guest: JAIME WOODS featuring SOLO! This FREE event is May 3rd. RSVP here!
