Community Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most dependable medical therapies used in the world. It is simple, safe and effective health care, made more accessible through low-cost community acupuncture programs like ours.

At Haji Healing Salon, a $25 treatment lasts about an hour and begins with a warm greeting at the door. After being checked in and invited to the waiting room (where you may enjoy tea, water or reading material), you'll have a private consultation with the practitioner. She may read your pulse, look at your eyes or ask that you stick out your tongue. These requests amount to information gathering that will help the therapist better understand your body. You'll be shown to a chair (or table) and once you recline, your treatment will begin. There will be other community members receiving treatment in a chair right next to you! You may even want to bring a friend or loved one to share in the experience. Everyone quietly rests during treatment and the vibe is very peaceful. Our licensed practitioners use thin, sterile, disposable needles, inserted superficially into specific areas of the body in order to stimulate the body's ability to heal itself. People tend to feel sleepy or very relaxed once the needles are inserted and we encourage you to surrender to that feeling, allowing the body and mind to rest. After 30-60 minutes the needles are removed. Most people leave feeling better and sometimes feel the positive effects for days after.

We welcome you to our cozy community acupuncture space. We do our best to honor your time and provide you with an effective, professional treatment. Our therapists are skilled, licensed and insured, have over fifteen combined years in practice and will take great care of you! Please follow these guidelines to enhance your experience:

  • Arrive for your appointment on time (10min early if first visit). While you wait, enjoy complimentary hot tea, water or fruit.
  • Speak in a low voice or whisper while in the waiting room.
  • Wear loose comfortable clothing that allows access to the limbs for the best treatment options.
  • Bring headphones if you wish to personalize your experience with music, recorded meditations, or anything that helps you relax. Earplugs can also be great to encourage deeper rest.

The Haji Healing Salon believes in aromatherapy and we diffuse YOUNG LIVING Essential Oils during acupuncture. We may also burn sage or Palo Santo sparingly. Please let us know if you have any fragrance sensitivity or allergies that could negatively impact your experience with us. We will do our best to make special accommodations for you. We look forward to seeing you soon!
