HAJI HEALING SALON :: CHATHAM CHICAGO :: SOUTH SIDE CHICAGO :: WE HEAL TOGETHER
Our move to 746 E. 79th street makes our unique vision for a communal healing space a reality. We have removed the walls, removed the pretense and we are doing our best to remove all the barriers to our healing! At Haji Healing Salon partners, families, friends and neighbors heal together AND ALL ARE WELCOME. We share the space and share the cost, so more people have greater access to these life-enhancing services. More people taking care of themselves, by addressing physical and emotional pain + the lingering effects of varied traumas, means more people feeling better. More people feeling better, means fewer people walking around in pain. Less pain leaves more room for peace. We believe more people with peaceful internal landscapes, will contribute to more peaceful (external) environments for all of us. May our communities be transformed, one healing person at a time. Ashé!
We are honored by your trust and faith in this enterprise and we thank you for walking this healing path with us.
A few things to know before you visit us
We are located at 746 E. 79th Street. Parking on 79th street is metered. We recommend paying with the Parking app and making sure you allow enough time on your meter so your services are stress-free. There are limited number of free parking spots on the side streets just west of the salon on Evans + Langley. Beware of residential permit parking. The salon is easily accessed via the #4 Cottage Grove bus and the #79 79th street bus. We are 1/2 block west of Cottage on 79th Street, on the north side of the street. Please note, we open 15-minutes prior to the start of each class or program. As a rule, if the curtain on the door is closed, so are we! Walk-ins are welcome for all yoga classes ($12) and for healing services on Sundays and Tuesdays, but incur a $5 surcharge and may be subject to longer wait times. Please reserve your class or service ahead of time to save money and be prioritized in the space.
Within our communal space, we ask that you speak in low tones to be respectful of those who may be napping or receiving therapeutic services. Please keep personal belongings (purses, phones wallets) with you at all times and use the baskets we provide at each station to keep these items close.
As a practice, we diffuse therapeutic grade essential oils in the salon, to help create a sense of calm and tranquility. Our most frequently used oils are lavender, frankincense and bergamot. The oils are pure and free of the synthetic additives that typically cause irritation. Our Reiki practitioners and massage therapists may offer you essential oils or liniment to enhance your treatment. You may of course opt out of these enhancements. We often burn incense at the door to welcome our clients and light sage and palo santo prior to the start of each class or program to clear the energy. Please be aware, if you have fragrance sensitivity that Haji Healing Salon is NOT a fragrance-free space.
Self Care station
Time to your self, for rest and relaxation can be hard to find at home. We understand and we want to help you get that R+R in… so, we make our zero-gravity chairs available for napping, our window seat available for reading and relaxing and our Qi Machine and electronic massage tools available for easing away tension. All of this amounts to our Self Care Space, which you may access any time we are open. Pay just $5 to access 90minutes in this space and support our Pay It Forward program at the same time!
Haji Healing Salon is a shoe-less space. In order to prevent tracking in the thousands of bacteria that live on our shoes, and in the interest of preserving the energetic sanctity of the space, we remove shoes at the door and place them on the shoe racks. Our floors are always clean enough for you to feel good about going barefoot, though you are welcome to bring footies or cozy socks to support you feeling more comfortable here. After removing your shoes, please hang your coat and head to the front desk to check-in for your class or service. You are welcome to help yourself to hot tea or water while you wait for your practitioner.
